Zayedul Ahsan Pintu, the most privileged journalist of the corrupt authoritarian government and a think tank of the party.

Zayedul Ahsan Pintu, who wrote a book accusing Shahid Ziaur Rahman of murder, has become the sole editor of DBC News after removing Pranab Saha, another associate of the corrupt authoritarian government. Pintu is also a key figure in the Awami League’s propaganda center, the Center for Research and Information (CRI). He is a close friend of late Sheikh Mujib’s grandson, Redwan Bobby. In statements from students involved in the anti-discrimination movement, they claimed that Pintu has spread the most lies against students.

There are numerous allegations of financial corruption against Pintu. He receives monthly bribes from police and intelligence agencies, which they have information on. Representatives from multiple intelligence agencies would come to Pintu’s room at the DBC News office and provide agenda-driven reports (which can be verified by CCTV footage). Pintu has also pressured his reporters to fabricate stories against Nobel laureate Dr. Yunus. Pinto would write scripts against Yunus and instruct desk staff or reporters to voice them. In this way, Pintu implemented various intelligence agency agendas in exchange for a large sum of money.

The government has instructed action against 28 journalists for “collaborating” with the authoritarian Awami League regime. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has recently compiled a list of these journalists, which includes Zayedul Ahsan Pintu.
