Allegations of corruption and irregularities have been raised against Nani Gopal Das, the Joint Director of NSI in Habiganj district, during the election period. He has been identified as one of the NSI officials responsible for overseeing elections in the Sylhet division. He is accused of holding secret meetings related to the election, distributing money, and being involved in secret arrangements with the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP). He also served as the NSI focal point for the district.

In addition to this, there have been reports of corruption and irregularities in other government institutions in Habiganj, such as the district jail and the Public Works Department. Allegations from the district jail include drug trafficking, taking money and cigarettes for allowing prisoner visits, charging for phone calls, and providing low-quality food to inmates.
