A case has been filed against 29 people, including the directors and officers of National Bank Limited, for embezzling money. They are accused of embezzling 459 crore taka by creating fake bills. Naimuzzaman Bhuiyan Mukta’s name is mentioned first as an accused in the case.
On December 2, 2023, during his election campaign, he was caught on video threatening to break the bones of anyone who supports an independent candidate or works against the boat symbol or boat candidate. The video of this statement spread on social media, and the Election Inquiry Committee issued a show-cause notice to him.
Naimuzzaman Bhuiyan Mukta, a politician, was the Vice President of Panchagarh District Awami League in 2024. He was the nominated and winning candidate of the Bangladesh Awami League for the Panchagarh-1 seat in the 2024 general elections. After the president dissolved the national parliament following the non-cooperation movement in 2024, he lost his seat and went into hiding.
He is a blind follower of Bangabandhu, and his father was an employee of the Mujibnagar government. His mother-in-law, Farida Akhter Hira, was a former Member of Parliament for a reserved women’s seat. Naimuzzaman Bhuiyan Mukta’s wife, Kazi Mousumi, is a retired senior officer of the Bangladesh Army and is active in Awami League politics. Kazi Mousumi was also a member of the executive committee of the Rawa Club.
