Corruption Syndicate of Law Secretary Golam Sarwar: Allegations of Judicial Interference and Misappropriation of Hundreds of Crores

Golam Sarwar, who served as the Secretary of the Ministry of Law, has been accused of serious misconduct, corruption, and administrative abuse. These allegations have gained more attention due to his close ties with Law Minister Anisul Huq.

⚖️ Recruitment Trade and Corruption Syndicate

Law Minister Anisul Huq allegedly appointed his loyal associate Golam Sarwar as Secretary and used him to run a recruitment trade in the lower courts and various departments. Reports suggest that nearly 2,000 staff members were hired from Kasba Upazila as part of this syndicate’s operations. Additionally, large sums of money were reportedly taken through bribes in sub-registry offices.

🧾 Interference in the Judiciary and Political Motives

Golam Sarwar is accused of interfering in judicial matters to harass opposition political figures. He allegedly played a role in the harassment of Dr. Muhammad Yunus, issuing a rushed government note to ban Jamaat-e-Islami, and dismissing a petition to stop police shootings during student protests.

💰 Financial Dealings and Illegal Wealth

There are also allegations that Golam Sarwar, along with his associate Toufika Karim, was involved in illegal financial transactions within the judiciary. The syndicate is believed to have embezzled hundreds of crores of taka through corrupt practices.
