Harun-or-Rashid Biswas, former Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Personal Secretary (PS) to ex-Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, has been accused of serious corruption and misconduct.

According to investigations by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), he was involved in accepting large sums of bribes in exchange for influencing transfers, postings, and recruitments within the Ministry. Reports claim that he took bribes ranging from 80 lakh to 2 crore BDT for appointing police superintendents, and this money was allegedly delivered in bags to the minister’s residence.

He was also accused of accepting illegal benefits during recruitment processes at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department. This corruption ring is believed to have embezzled thousands of crores of Taka.

The ACC is currently investigating the allegations against Harun-or-Rashid Biswas, and legal action is underway.
