Brigadier General Mizanur Rahman, BA-5083, 32nd Long Course, was appointed as the DGFI Dhaka Detachment Commander during the anti-discrimination student movement in July 2024. He was a close ally of DGFI’s Major General Hamid and is known for his ruthless actions. Mizan was the main coordinator of all the crimes during the student movement, including killings, abductions, torture, and other atrocities committed by various forces. He was also one of the key figures behind crimes like abductions and “Ayna Ghar” torture centers. After the fall of the fascist government on August 5, 2024, Mizan quickly destroyed all evidence of the “Ayna Ghar” operations under his command. This cunning officer used to take a 10% commission as bribes from all DGFI projects, making him a wealthy man with illegal money. He is a strong supporter of the fascist Awami League and an opponent of the current interim government. He is still involved in efforts to bring Sheikh Hasina back to power in Bangladesh. After the fall of the authoritarian government on August 5, 2024, he was transferred as the Commandant of the Military Intelligence Training School (SMI) in Comilla.
