Joint Secretary (Planning) Mohammad Nurul Amin Khan joined the Ministry of Industry as an Additional Secretary and after working for over three years, he was promoted to Joint Secretary and posted back to the Ministry of Industry as a representative from Gopalganj. During his tenure in the Planning Division, he exploited his position to siphon off funds from each project under the ministry’s agencies, using his influence from Gopalganj.
In 2021, he demanded a bribe of 5 million Taka for changes in the Sirajganj Industrial Park project and faced an investigation. However, through exerting influence, he managed to manipulate the investigating officer and was cleared of the charges. While working in the Planning Division, he developed close ties with Hafizur Rahman, the Project Director of the BSCIC Chemical Industrial Park and the Munshiganj project, as well as with Rashidur Rahman, the former Chhatra League leader and current Deputy General Manager at BSCIC. Through these connections, he regularly received commissions from tenders related to BSCIC’s projects.
